Description: Last year we started implementing a new trivago product called trivago Weekend, which let’s you find regional getaways for your weekend trip. We started with a whole new tech stack and shipped the first version after three months of work. In this talk, Principal Engineer Malte Wessel shows you how and why we leveraged Next.js, which challenges we faced and how we are going to further improve the implementation. ___ trivago Tech Week 2021 is a virtual event that we host to promote knowledge exchange and a culture of tech excellence within trivago and across all pillars. The week features a wide variety of talks and exchange forums, hosted both by internal talents and external speakers. Last year, the Tech Week hosted over 30 sessions featuring trivago talents, in addition to speakers from organisations such as Expedia, Github, and Google.
